How to score Chicago (card game)
Chicago is the Swedish game of poker hands and tricks, played with five cards each to 52 points. After each of the first two exchanges the best hand scores: a pair 1, two pairs 2, three of a kind 3, a straight 4, a flush 5, a full house 6, four of a kind 7 and a straight flush 8, while a royal straight flush wins the game outright. After the third exchange five tricks are played, the last trick is worth 5 points, and the best hand scores once more. A player who calls Chicago before the tricks must win all five: that scores 15, and a failed Chicago costs 15, so a minus entry is allowed. Add a row for every deal with each player’s points; the first to 52 or more wins. House rules differ (no exchanging from 46 points, a straight flush worth 11), so note yours in the game details.
